In brief: Kayex not for BM
Kayexalate (sodium polystyrene sulfonate) is a polystyrene salt resin designed to grab onto the excess potassium (dangerous for heart) while in the intestine.
It is not to facilitate bm-it actually increases chance of constipation. So, if he is not having bm, don't rely on kayex to help with that. He will likely need other stimulant to help with bm--maybe lactullose etc..Consult his doc. Good luck.
