Without oxygen, we die. The hemoblobin is composed of iron and a carrier protein named globulin. So without the iron, the hemoglobin will be low, the cells won't be able to carry oxygen and the body has no energy and starts to lose its function. Also, snce we do not normally lose iron, look for bleeding.
