Is it bad to use whitening mouthwash when you have braces?

In brief: Useless, Not Bad

Whitening mouthwashes don't really whiten your teeth to any appreciable degree.
They can whiten the plaque and tartar which has built up, but that's not much of a benefit. Having braces shouldn't have much of an effect, if any. If you want white teeth, you really need to use an actual approved bleaching method. Otc products are unpredictable. Dentist-delivered bleaching works great. Mouthwash not.

In brief: Yes

If you have traditional braces (wires, bands & brackets) on your teeth, then the whitening mouthwash will not whiten wherever you have metal or porcelain covering over your natural teeth.
Use any other fda mouthwash while your in braces and when you're out of braces, use whitening mouthwash.
