Is methocarbamol good for relieving back pain?

Robaxin (methocarbamol) is older… Med used in treatment of back pain; mild muscle relaxer, that has been replaced by newer, more effective ones (flexeril, norflex, (orphenadrine) etc). If pain due solely to muscle spasm, muscle relaxer may suffice, but moist heat, stretching, & NSAID use generally provide better relief. See doc for options for treatment after evaluation of condition.

Stick with exercise and analgesics in the non steroidal family. Avoid opiate based medications as they are a slippery slope for most people. Read more...
