In brief: Always will see you
Chiropractors cannot treat nerve damage.
They will insist they can. They can relieve the discomfort a little with deep massage but cannot diagnose or cure nerve damage. See your regular doctor first and perhaps an orthopedic specialist or neurologist for nerve damage.

In brief: They treat nothing
That's the all-purpose delusion of chiropractic: Every problem is a "pinched nerve": Not just back pain, but everything: Depression, impotence, infertility, PMS, acne, constipation, deafness, flat feet, irritable bowel, reflux, ingrown toenails, you name it.
As a neurologist, I'm here to tell you: A chiropractor is no more able to treat "nerve damage" than your hairdresser.
