Use of any medication during pregnancy should be avoided if possible & used only if the benefit outweighs any risks.
Congenital heart defects involve genes on many chromosomes & a certain number will occur with or without medication exposure.I doubt anyone can prove this med triggers a specific defect, although some meds can. Most of these infants are normal but transiently show sluggish reactivity.
