I have pcos & hypo. I take thyroid energy, fish oil, vitex, raspberry, cinnamon, bcomplex, multi vitamin at rec. Doses. Any harm in taking so many?
Supplements. I'm unaware of what "thyroid energy" is. Is it synthetic thyroid hormone or armor thyroid?
Probably not needed. The best minerals and vitamins are the ones you get from food. That might be all that you need. Thus, a balance, healthy diet is the best way to go. That being said, if you take too much vitamins, unless it's vitamin a, d, e, k, you should be fine as you will pee off the excess.
I have pcos. I've been takeing prenatal vitamins and fish oil. Can the prenatal vitamins make my breast sore?
What vitamins should I be taking on a daily basis? I hardly get sun, sore joints at times etc fish oil vit d? Multivitamin? No energy etc
Vitamins. A good multivitamin is a good idea. It's like an insurance policy for when we don't eat right, don't sleep well, or are especially stressed. See Dr. and... I advise a quality multivitamin, ideally with the L-5-MTHF form of folate, (folic acid) Vitamin D3 5000 iu/day, Vit C 1000 mg 2x/day and Fish Oil 2000 mg/day. Healthy diet important too; you might have food allergies; try avoiding gluten. See a good Dr.; you might have parasites and other chronic infections, heavy metal or mold toxicity etc. Adrenal tonics like ashwagandha, rhodiola and tulsi tea may help. Read more...
Am I harming my body by taking food based multivitamin and fish oil? I heard on the news that overdose of certain vitamins can cause cancer.
Probably not, but... Probably not helping much either, if diverse diet, no significant liver, kidney, bowel disease. If compelled yo take a supplement, stay away from megadoses to minimize risk of imbalance or overdosing. High doses can cause gut complaints, like nausea, gas, bloat. Supplements isn't same as diet intake, and in studies results aren't as good (generally); could be if eat better, take bettercare ofself. Read more...
