In brief: At a bar

Sitting tends to be a high load -4x body weight-across the back.
Worse if no back support or arm rests like a bleecher. Over the ages, bars evolved to be very comfortable with a high chair more like standing than sitting with a brass rail or foot rest so it is easy to get up &shift position and the bar is high unlike sitting over a desk-ergonomics at its besit with the ability to self medicate!

In brief: Erect

Sitting erect with a lumbar roll in the hollow of the lower back should give you best chance to relieve lower back pain while seated.
But more importantly should find out why you are having lower back pain. See your pcp.
