My husband has pigmented villonodular synovitis in his left ankle he has had two surgeries but is still in constant pain. Any suggestions?

Recurrence? Pvns can cause serious damage to the cartilage of joints, and can have a high rate of recurrence even with surgical excision (removal) of the lesions. Recurrence? Pain after ankle pvns could be due to multiple causes. Assuming no surgical complications (infection, nerve injury, etc), pain could be due to recurrent pvns or inadequate excision. There also may be arthritis associated with the pvns that needs to be addressed. I would recommend follow up with a foot and ankle specialist or orthopedic oncologist. Read more...

I feel a constant pain in my left ankle that comes and goes many doctors saw my MRI and didn't find anything. I even did physical therapy many times.

Ankle pain. Tough to say since many things can cause ankle pain. Mri's are helpful but can sometimes miss certain pathologies. I would recommend evaluation by a foot and ankle specialist. Read more...
Specialist eval. There is a possibility with constant pain and a normal MRI and i assume a normal exam that the problem is coming from elsewhere such as a radiculopathy or a nerve pain. Differential injections with Lidocaine can help localize the problem to being inside or outside of the joint. Normal mri's don't mean there is no problem and other tests may be necessary: emg/ncv, bone scan, ultrasound. Read more...

The sole is a large . The sole is a large area and many underlying conditions can manifest in pan there. It's really not possible to give you a definitive answer.
