In brief: Variable.

Should be comfortable in less than 24 hours, with vision starting to improve rapidly starting the next morning after surgery, taking up to a week to clear completely.
You should be able to return to normal activities the next day. This is for routine uncomplicated procedure.

In brief: Recovery Time

Depending on pre-surgery risks & other surgical factors (was laser cataract surgery performed, was there any complication, excess iris manipulation or energy needed), most patients can go back to school/computer work/work in 2-5days: as long as using drops, no bending, lifting, heavy straining performed.
Computer time for few minutes ok day of surgery in many cases. More @ Eyedoc2020@blogspot.com

In brief: Recovery time

Recovery time after cataract surgery depends on procedure performed.
If modern surgery is performed successfully, you should significant improvement in vision in 1-2 days and completely healed by 1-2 weeks. Most surgeon wait until 1 month postoperatively for new glasses check since the prescription can fluctuate some early on.

In brief: A few weeks.

Your body will physically recover within 1 day, but your eyes may take a few weeks.
Most patients have functional vision within 1 week but they may require as much as a month for the vision to completely stabilize at which time the new refractive status can be determined and glasses or contacts prescribed.
