In brief: Not really
Allergic reactions all result in the release of histamine.
Histamine release in the head & neck area cause itchy watery eyes, runny nose, sneezing, & itchy throat; in the lungs histamine causes wheezing & shortness-of-breath, while in the skin it causes itching & hives. In some people allergies may manifest slightly different but most people will experience at least some of the symptoms listed.

Occasionally, in cat allergic persons, they can develop eczema from allergen contact on the skin. This is probably caused by a mechanism different from contact urticaria (hives) due to cutaneous contact with cats.
