In brief: Ice

Ice pack will help to dull the pain, 20min on 20min off, keep you head elevated.
Otherwise rx pain meds could help as well.

In brief: Ice, hoku

Best answer - ice packs, 10 min.
On and off. After the first day, gentle warm salt rinses a few times a day may also soothe. There is an acupressure point in the web between thumb and second finger called the hoku point. Try pinching that between the thumb and second finger of your other hand. Your dentist can advise you about whether Ibuprofen and/or tylenol (acetaminophen) or prescription meds are right for yo.

In brief: Home remedies

Wisdom tooth pain is more common with the lower jaw (mandible) wisdom teeth where the jaw bone is more dense.
Pain usually radiates along the lower jaw to the ear. Usually you will be provided with analgesics (pain medication) to take. Applying ice often helps. You want to make sure you don't have an infection or dry socket (very painful). Check with your dentist or oral surgeon.
