In brief: Humidity/vapor

A humidifier is basically a fan that draws moisture from a paper or metallic wick & adds it to air in the room. A vaporizer makes a mist.
Old style vaporizers have a heating element that boils water making steam, these are unsafe. Modern products use tuning fork technology & make light or heavy mist (vaporizers also humidify)they are safe & helpful when your heater dries out the air you sleep in.

In brief: Vaporizers

Humidifiers can either produce warm mist or cool mist.
Vaporizers produce hot or warm mist and are, therefore, warm humidifiers. Please be very careful when using vaporizers and warm mist humidifiers around children as they tend to cause accidental burns.
