In order for person to receive a kidney transplant a donor for them must be found.
If that person has a relative or acquaintance that wants to donate a kidney, is very healthy and matches based on the recipient's immune system they can be transplanted. If not they have to wait on a list until a deceased donor becomes available. Again it has to be someone that has healthy kidneys and is a match.
