In brief: Stage for Stage in

Disease confined to prostate, "cure" is similar; side effects very different: surgery v.
Radiotherapy. Subtypes of each and claims of superiority more likely due to cherry picking. Get honest facts for sexual function, continence, bladder and rectal injury.

In brief: Depends on the stage

D/w your md. For localized cancer- either surgery vs radiotherapy.
Both pros and cons of these two have to be considered carefully. For more locally advance disease ( intermediate -high risk)- androgen blocker is frequently combined with radiation therapy. For metastatic disease- treatment include androgen blocker, chemo, palliative radiation, newer tx like zytiga, (abiraterone acetate) mdv3100, Provenge etc.
