In brief: Espiride/sulpiride

Is atypical antipsychotic used mainly to treat psychosis associated with schizophrenia & major depressive disorder. Side effects include dystonia, parkinsonism, & akathisia (extrapyramidal, altho to lesser degree than older meds), low bp, long-qt syndrome, dry mouth, sweating, nausea, activation/ sedation, insomnia, allergic rash, pruritus.
Rare cases of neuroleptic malignant syndrome. [not in us].
