In brief: Poor brain control
Partial seizures occur in patients with a region of irritated brain.
If they abuse themselves and do not sleep well, eat poorly, and indulge in drugs or alcohol, the brain will react with a complex partial seizure. Medication will often control this disorder, but if doses are missed, then serious seizures may occur. Tumors may present with partial seizures and need prompt treatment.
