Heavy doses of alcohol, especially in binge drinking, can cause diarrhea by directly inflaming the gastrointestinal tract and also by damaging the pancreas, which produces enzymes which digest fat. If fat is not digested, it pulls fluid into the gut and can cause diarrhea.
