In brief: You should not

Be wondering this.
I assume there was a doctor who told you that you broke it in 2 places and gave you some form of treatment, this doctor should of given you some type of medication to deal with pain. Some may also give an antiinflammatory. I am confused at why you have to wonder? We're you not given a prescription when you were evaluated?

In brief: Depends

Often after an acute fracture, pain medication will be prescribed which can include a narcotic pain medication such as hydrocodone.
Ask your doctor to see what is appropriate for you.
