In brief: Fairly good

A total knee does not feel like a normal knee.
It does allow normal walking, stair climbing, and low-impact exercise. Running long distances and high impact sports are not generally recommended. Furthermore, certain activities, such as kneeling, may be uncomfortable. If you are a good candidate, a total knee will decrease pain and improve function, but it feels a little different than normal knee.
