What hayfever compound is better, loratadine or cetirizine hydrochloride, if you get only nose symptoms?

Cetirizine. Both are anti- histamines that help with the symptoms of hay fever. However, both my personal & professional experience has been that Cetirizine is more effective. Every patient is different, so some may respond better to one medication over another. Both are over the counter.

Which uis best for hay fever cetirizine hydrochloride or loratadine?

Both work... But I tend to prefer Cetirizine because I have had a better personal experience and my patients generally do better with this treatment as well. Of course, if you use Loratadine and it is helping, stick with it.
Both are good. Everyone reacts differently to medicines...Some people like Cetirizine better than loratidine. Others prefer fexofenadine. Or vica versa...

I take cetirizine hydrochloride for PLE but today my nose has felt really bunged up and my eyes are stinging. Can I take loratadine as well?

Please use caution. Although it is appropriate in many conditions to take the two medications together, you have to take into consideration that taking two or more similar medications together can cause additional side effects which in this case may include confusion, drowsiness, weakness, dry mouth, dry eyes, blurred vision, constipation and etc. Please use caution while taking them together.
Yes. Wont harm you to take both cetirizine and loratadine in one day.

What can I do to fight hayfever symptoms? I'm currently on 120mg Cetirizine Hydrochloride but they are only relieving symptoms for 1-2 hours

Depends. What exactly are your symptoms? Hay fever may refer to many things such as sore throat, itchy eyes and runny nose. Sometimes a rash can be present. If you have a problem that is not hay fever, Cetirizine may not be the best medicine. Alternatively, a different antihistamine such as loratidine my help.
Nasal steroids. Are your symptoms present in fall, spring seasons, or year round? If year round, they may be nonallergic rather than allergic. If present during the fall and spring hayfever seasons, you may benefit from topical nasal steroid therapy. Sound scary? It has been found to be the most effective treatment with few side effects. Do discuss your therapy options with your primary medical provider.
