In brief: Epidural

If you had epidural for a herniated disc, 1 week is long enough to start feeling the difference, if it was done properly by a qualified physician.
If the disc is physically pressing on the nerves, it may not help and you either wait or get surgery. Avoid prolonged sitting. Get regular therapy. Walk. Avoid lifting, bending.

In brief: Need to F/U with doc

Epidural just a tool to treat and diagnose of disc problem. Some people will work, but some will not.
It all depend on the severity of your problem. Some people will need surgery after fail several epidural injections. You need to follow-up and let your doctor know your symptom.

In brief: Complications

It sounds like you might have some nerve issues after the epidural injection.
I would contact the doctor for evaluation.

In brief: Wait

You may still be having effects from the anesthesia used in the epidural.
You may want to call the doctor and discuss it.
