Chylothorax. In neonatal period, chylothorax can happen as a part of hydrops fetalis. Also it can happen with tpn, or abnormal lymphatic grainage. So treatment depends on the cause. Moest of the time drainage, feeds with enfaport 50, if needed surgical correction, medications like octreotide help.
Depends. Chylothorax may resolve with a chest tube. It may require being fasted and on IV nutrition to reduce chyle formation. If non operation management fails after 2-3 weeks then surgery to ligate thoracic duct.
