In brief: Maybe
I needed to take systemic tetracycline until i was in my mid-40's.
The important thing is that no youngster nowadays needs to have bad acne. There are a variety of approaches; i start with topical clindamycin, try a systemic antibiotic that the person can take if this fails. For the toughest cases, dermatologists have Accutane and lasers. Good luck -- and good health.
