In brief: Pustules

Newborn acne causes pustules or pimples on the skin.
Eczema causes a red, itchy rash, pustules do not occur unless the eczema is infected.

In brief: Rashy newborns

Most newborns are pretty rashy! they don't really get that beautiful baby skin for a couple of months, in many cases.
It's pretty hard to tell what their rashes are, but generally, the "acne" ones are bumpy and the allergic eczema ones are scaly and peel. Gentle skin care and "tincture of time" helps most newborn rashes, but if it keeps getting worse, be sure to ask your doctor about it.
