In brief: Many in addition

In addition, it is well known that obese people earn less money at their job, also are less likely to get a job.
Obesity is often judged by others as a sign that a person could be lazy or not work as hard at their job. In todays world, where jobs are not as plentiful, obesity could stand in a person's way when he/she applies for a job. Please note that I do not agree with these negative perceptions.

In brief: Mutual support helps

Compulsive overeating disrupts work and social relationships.
These problems may indeed be repaired through participation in mutual support groups such as overeaters anonymous and other 12 step programs.
