In brief: T4 endplate fracture
Usually this is due to some type of compressive force, often mionr if associated with osteoporosis.
Most heal within 6-12 weeks, and sometime bracing may not be necessary. I would recommend having a ct or MRI of the region to rule out any other pathologies that weaken bone, if the fracture occured with minor trauma.
