Lots of kids, especially under 6 months of age, get hospitalized.
The need for hospitalization are three fold. 1. Needs oxygen 2. Can't keep up with fluids and feeds 3. Needs closer monitering. Medications have not been found useful unless there is another condition present such as history of asthma or a secondary infection requiring antibiotics.
