I have 3 year old twins. One was just diagnosed with strep and coxsackievirus. He has blisters but doesn't have diarrhea. Can I bathe them together?

In brief: Depends

The exposure to coxsackie virus has probably already occurred & will pass to the other if susceptible.
Most are infectious from their oral secretions from before the onset of fever until after fever subsides or a week. It may remain in their stool for a few weeks. The strep may have also passed, but is not considered contagious after 24 hrs of treatment.

In brief: Not recommended

Coxsackie virus is transmitted by fecal-oral route.
It is occasionally transmitted by droplets by infected individuals. This is the reason why it is so easily spread in areas of close contact like daycare. It is not recommended that the two kids bathe together. However, i recognize that child care of siblings can be difficult when one is sick...
