Ask the dentist the direct question--what are you doing it for? When anything is "flushed" it implies "something" (pus
, debris, etc) needs to be removed.
If it has just been placed, the implant
may not be doing well, and the idea is to clean it out. If it's been there and already has a tooth on it, "flushing" may mean that some of the implant is exposed and the tissue around it is pocketed.
