In brief: Therapy/meds

Evaluate, diagnose type, provide therapy or anti-anxiety meds.
Often a combination of both. Family mds will often refer to psychiatrist or therapist.

In brief: Combination

We use a combination of SSRI medications and therapy.
Paxil (paroxetine) works well in teens and this is generic and on most formularies. Seeing a counselor regularly for tips on managing stress and anxiety is useful as well. I usually recommend both, with very good results!
