Would a yeast infection in the blood stream show up on blood smear?

Rarely. You would need to have a high load of yeast in the blood to see it on a peripheral smear... But I have seen yeast on such a smear several times, so it is possible.

If yes, then your answer is no! vaginal yeast infection is a localized benign disease and does not spread! BUT kidneys and blood can get infected by fungal diseases rarely in immunocompromised patients or in patients with long term intravenous accesses/lines, or with long term Foley catheters! Herpes is not.... Redness all around your vagina in no way would be herpes. I am very surprised that anyone would repeatedly test you for this when this is not the symptom for herpes. Redness all around your vagina is a yeast infection until proven otherwise. Read more...

3 months Pregnant currently with yeast infection doctor said to get monistat. And stool shows white blood cells. Is that part of the yeast or som else?

Unrelated. Vaginal yeast would not lead to white blood cells in the stool. It is not clear what stool testing was done. That is not a common test to have done in pregnancy unless certain gastrointestinal symptoms were present. Clarify with the ordering physician why the tests were done and what the next steps are in the plan of care. Read more...
