In brief: It depends

It depends on the etiology of what is causing the neuropathy.
Often times in a diabetic the cause is the medical condition. In a non-diabetic where the diabetes is not the etiology one may look towards the back i.E herniated disc etc as a possible cause. Medications chosen are esentially the same. For both conditions nutrional supplements i.E l-methyl folate, (folic acid) alpha-lipoic acid and befotalamine.

In brief: Same

The same kinds or medications are used to treat non-diabetic neuropathy as are used to treat diabetic neuropathy.
These medications include anti-depressants and anti-convulsants.

In brief: Treat or manage

You cannot treat a neuropathy unless you know the cause and treat the underlying cause, otherwise you are managing the symptoms only.
