In brief: This is a purine
Resveratrol is a the antioxidant benefit that is found in red wine which is good for your heart.
Unfortunately alcohol in any shape or form is broken down into purines that can cause in increase in purines and thereby increasing your uric acid leading to gout.

In brief: Not sure
There's a good review article in wikepedia (http://en.
Wikipedia.Org/wiki/resveratrol) it does not list any beneficial association with gout. There are some reports from other sources that it acts like the prescription med allopurinol, which is more of a preventive drug rather than one to treat a flare. But there is no valid scientific testing as to the safety and effectiveness, and consistency.
