can cause an arthritis or arthralgia in oloder people generally not kids they develop 5th disease
Dr. Robert Lowe
Kids can and do get parvo virus infections that can mimic juvenile idiopathic athritis. Many different infections can also cause a self-limited reactive arthritis that can be treated with NSAIDS and should resolve over several weeks but can go on for as long as 5-6 weeks. If not improving by then, a diagnosis of JIA/JRA should be considered with evaluation by a pediatric rheumatologist
