Internal Medicine - Rheumatology
In brief: Very little success!
The drug is used to help people with vascular claudication , purportedly improving circulation by making red cells more "pliable.
" it works for this. There are a number of reports on its use, but little are placebo-controlled trials. Has been used in raynaud's, vascultis (small vessel), and other diseases. Few side-effects occur. No value in arthritis, but can be tried in a rheumatology practice.
