My hand burns bad, yet no burn or rash is present, what could this be? Is it carpal tunnel?

In brief: Possibly

The abnormal sensation in carpal tunnel syndrome is not typically described as burning but might be.
More typically it's described as numbness or tingling in association with hand discomfort and possibly weakness. There is no regular association with skin rashes or burns.

In brief: Probably not...

A burning sensation can exist with carpal tunnel syndrome, but this is generally a very late symptom. More common is numbness of the thumb, index, long and half of the ring finger. You should be evaluated by a hand surgeon for a real diagnosis, but in the meantime look at: http://www.
