Are scleral contact lens something for a thinning cornea?

Yes! Patients with hinning corneas, either from keratoconus or other causes, are often good candidates for scleral lenses because they rest on the sclera and not the cornea. They do need to be fit carefully by an eye care practice that is skilled in the art and science to scleral lenses. Both optometrists and opthalmologists have these abilities.
