How does one pair of eyeglasses correct both nearsighted and farsighted eye problems?

In brief: Different areas

Basically each eye can be near (myopic) or far sighted (hyperopic) and then have loss of reading vision (presbyopic).
Glasses can correct for the distance vision on top and then have additional reading power to help with near vision on the bottom. These terms are confusing as someone who is farsighted could have blurry vision at all distances and not see far. It would be best to ask your eyedoc.
