In brief: Estrogen
The vivelle (estradiol) patch contains Estradiol hormone, it comes in different doses.
Some side effects patients report include: breast swelling, nausea, irregular bleeding, bloating, moodiness, headaches, weight gain. The more dangerous 'risks' include : blood clots in the legs and lungs, strokes, heart attacks, breast cancer stimulation (these are very dangerous, but not common).

In brief: Vivelle (estradiol) is estrogen
Vivelle (estradiol) is a transdermal estrogen patch.
It is used to treat menopause. It has all of the risks (and benefits) of other transdermal estrogen products. 400 characters is not enough room to completely discuss the risks and benefits of hormone replacement therapy but they include blood clots, increased risk of endometrial cancer and possibly breast cancer, and local skin reactions. Talk to your md.
