A "stye" on the inside of the eyelid is probably a chalazion.
These are backed up oil glands that cause an inflammatory nodule to form in the eyelid tissue. Hot compresses soften the oil plug, allowing it to drain. This should be followed up by cleaning along the eyelashes with a mild soap, such as baby shampoo diluted in warm water. It can take a few weeks of treating these twice daily...
