In brief: Yes

There are many different types of thyroid cancer.
The most common one is papillary thyroid cancer. This type is slow growing and typically does not "spread." if it does, it typically will spread to the lymph nodes, but other sites are also possible.

In brief: Yes

The most common site for thyroid cancer to metastasize is to the lymph nodes in the neck near the thyroid.
In many cases, this is the only site of metastases and it can be cured with surgery (and usually radio iodine).
