Ophthalmology

In brief: Orientation
Ophthalmologists are fully trained md's who can treat eye disease, do eye surgery and provide glasses and contacts.
Optometrists, very much lesser trained, would like to get into the act of changing eye power (like lasik) and have developed a system of contact lens wear to flatten the cornea. Those who do this are called orthokeratologists. Best to deal with an ophthalmolgist.
