What is the difference between deuteranopia vs protanopia?

Dimmed bright colors. Protanopes lack long-wavelength-sensitive cones & are unable to distinguish between colors in the green–yellow–red part of the spectrum. Also the brightness of red, orange, & yellow is much reduced. Deuteranopes lack medium-wavelength cones; they have the same hue discrimination problems as the protanope, but without the abnormal dimming. Both have red-green colorblindness.
