Infection/inflammation (bacterial/viral /allergic) of the eyelids (blepharo) & transparent membrane (conjunctiva) lining inner part of eyelids & the sclera (white of eye) [see image].
Bacterial may be treated with topical antibiotics/steroid combo. Allergic treated with allergy meds. Viral usually resolves on own. Small red nodules of lymphoid tissue (phlyctenulae) can form on conjunctiva.
