Can excessive computer use cause cataracts?

No. If it did we would all go blind. There are no credible studies to link prolonged viewing of tv or computer screens to cataract development.

Scientific studies have not proven any association between use of a computer monitor and radiation induced cataracts- so at this point and from my experience in practice of doing over 25, 000 cataract surgeries i personally have not seen a higher incidence in computer programmers and we live in microsoft country here in seattle.
