In brief: Local blindness help

Most communities of substantial size have community agencies for the blind and visually impaired.
Contact them for help, and for assignment to seeing eye dog agencies if you qualify,. They will need a referral and information about your blindness and prognosis.

Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael, CA; Leader Dogs f/t Blind in Rochester MI; Seeing Eye Dogs in Morristown, NJ. Check the Internet for resources with www.lighthouse.org. That said, most low-vision persons do not need a guide dog, just a good dog.
