Two and a half weeks ago I had arthroscopic knee surgery, my knee still feels hot to the touch. Is that normal at this point?

In brief: Inflammation

Hot implies inflammation.
Increased warmth is common a couple weeks after surgery, but if accompanied by significant pain or redness, then an urgent evaluation is necessary to rule out an infection.

In brief: See surgeon!

Obviously, this episode has passed.
But when one is having postoperative problems, the best option is to go back to the surgeon who did the operation. Sometimes, there isn't time, and you have to go to the er. But the surgeon is responsible for you until you are fully recovered! follow your instructions, see the surgeon promptly if problems develop, and at the very least, call the doctor if so.

In brief: NO

There are too many variables for you to "sit tight and wait it out".
It is best to be safe and get checked out asap. Your surgeon is the best judge as to what is normal. He or his cover physician(s) are best suited to address your concerns. This is not an issue to wait for online response.
