Anyone know if cancers can be triggered by the interferon?

No. Interferons are proteins belong to the large class of glycoproteins known as cytokines) which are made by cells in response to pathogens, such as viruses, and tumors. There are about 10 that have been identified. 2 or 3 have been manufactured for therapeutic use in the treatment of some cancers and other diseases such as hepatitis. While as their use causes side effects, they don't cause cancer.
