I have terrible periods that start out really heavy and my cramps are horrible! I take 800 mg of ibeprofen every 8 hours and it doesn't help?

Depending on your age oral contraceptive pills can lighten the period and ease the pain. Also, the Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud can lessen the period and the pain. Talk with your doctor.
